the FruitFromWashington Calorie
Counter Database Search
We
are all familiar with the two sides of the calorie coin. On
the one side is the number of calories you burn during various
activities. For instance: sedentary activities such as reading,
doing homework, watching tv average 80 to 100 calories per
hour. Light activities such as office work, food prep or washing
dishes fall in the range of 110 to 160 calories per hour.
Moderate walking is in the 170 to 240 calorie per hour range
while vigorous walking, bowling, golfing or gardening burn
250 to 350 calories per hour. Strenuous activities such as
swimming, tennis, running, and biking can burn up 350 calories
or more per hour.
The
flip side of the calorie coin is the number of calories contained
in the food we eat. When you wonder how many calories there
are in your favorite candy bar or cereal, thanks to the United
States Department of Agriculture nutrient database, we can
help you find the answer. FruitFromWashington.com's
free calorie counter program lets you query the USDA's
huge database in just a jiffy. Jiffy brand peanut butter,
now I wonder how many calories there are in a serving of that?
