Summer
sunset - Kittitas Valley
There
is something about the sunsets in the Kittitas Valley -- Spectacular.
Stunning. A wash of color gliding across the sky. One pleasant
warm evening last summer we sat on lawn chairs out on the side
of the road and did nothing but watch the sun slide below the
edge of the horizon, followed soon after by the moon and, as
an added bonus, Venus also slipped out of sight. And I mustn't
neglect to mention that it was a skywatcher's triple bonus night
-- the start of the Perseid meteor showers and as the stunning
sunset colors faded to deep purple and the stars appeared we
saw two meteors blaze into the atmosphere.

The
lights of Ellensburg and Mt. Stuart's silhouette on a summer
evening.

Winter
view. Lovely sunrise.
